Jardine's Bootleg Salsa

 Project Background

For a senior year project, a partner and I were tasked with creating a campaign for Jardine’s new Bootleg salsa collection. I worked alongside the art director to bring the party with pop up party locations in bland locations.

My Role: Copywriter and Strategist

Brand Background

Jardine’s is a small business that specializes in Tex-Mex foods, including hot sauce, salsa, and seasonings. They bring the heat with wild flavor combinations most people wouldn’t assume blend well. They recently released a new collection, the Bootleg Series, which we we tasked with promoting.

Strategy

Jardine’s brings the party. So what, the get together may be lame, the vibe is getting bland, but Jardine’s Bootleg Series turns up the heat with its wild flavor combinations that demand excitement. Salsa and chips in one hand, and a cocktail in the other.

Experiential

Jardine’s Bootleg Takeover

For an experiential pop-up, we decided to make any old boring location a party hot spot. Focusing on two flavors, Tipsy Tequila and Lime, and Sassy Lavender and Peach, we designed two theme parties. These party locations will vary, traveling between parking lots of not-so-hot spots around the country, including the DMV, Walmart, and a courthouse.

Tipsy Tequila and Lime

For our Tipsy Tequila and Lime flavor, we created a spring break themed party, with a signature cocktail that pairs perfectly with the salsa, The Sloshed and Spicy. The interior features a sandbox, paper lanterns, a bar, and fun palm trees, with a grassy rooftop lounge and corn hole.

Sassy Lavender and Peach

For our Sassy Lavender and Peach, we created a sassy burlesque themed party, with a signature cocktail made to pair with our salsa, The Saucy Sour. The interior features a stage with burlesque dancers with fun fruit and lavender headpieces, sexy lighting and plush chairs with a table fire pit. On the roof, we offer a cutout photo op.
